What people ask before they add their first person.
Is Dote free?
Yes. Dote costs nothing to use. You only pay Groupon for an experience you pick, at the price on the day you lock it in, and a plan of two or more different experiences gets money back from Dote once Groupon confirms.
How does paying work?
You pay on Groupon’s own checkout, months ahead if you like. Dote never sees your card. Chipping in with friends works the same way: they pledge, you pay once, and Dote tells everyone who left an email what to send you.
What if they can’t go that day?
The gift is a voucher, not a booking: they use it any day before it expires, and Dote reminds them before it does (or you, for a card you handed over). They get your note on the morning of the date either way.
Can I change it after I pay?
Change who it goes to from the date’s page, any time before it’s delivered. Move the date and a paid gift moves with it, so it still lands on the day.
Can my partner and I share the list?
Yes. Start a household in Settings and send the link. You both see the people you share and their dates, either of you can lock something in, and the other sees it’s covered. Anyone can stay just yours, so surprises stay surprises.
